This season we worked with charities such as PCUK and Raleigh International, and have looked at how our audience gives to such organisations.

SMOKING AND VAPING

A little insight:

Football fans smoke and vape more than the national average. There, we’ve said it.

They will also pass a corner shop, supermarket or other vape retailer on the way home from the ground, making our posters and screens inside the ground relevant in terms of geography and context.

But they are also relevant in terms of mindset, too. If they smoke then the fan isn’t allowed to smoke for up to four hours while they are in the ground – it’s very much the holy trinity of advertising strategy: the right people, in the right place, at the right time…

A little insight:

39% of football fans have more than one car. And they tend to be the person who chooses which cars are parked on the family driveway.

Also, did you know over half of fans get to the ground by private car?

Fashion seems to be really important for football fans. Our posters and screens are the perfect place to show them brands or new trends coming out. We wonder if there is something in the fact most of our fixtures take place right before our audience styarts to think about their Saturday night out… We have worked with some HUGE men’s fashion brands such as JD, Scotts, and BoohooMAN.

At smarterVENUES we have worked with activation to promote the new release of Call of Duty. Call of Duty is a first-person shooter video game. They used our FanTV’s to get the release across to the fans and it was an incredible advert.

We have worked with some of the biggest DIY brands such as; Screwfix and B&Q and they have been a huge success. 47% of football fans do DIY within and around their home.
